Marlena is a singer who exudes such enthusiasm and warmth that you’ll stop, listen, and return for more. Her audiences feel as if they know her simply from watching her, as she draws them in and includes them in her performances, putting her heart into every show.
Marlena's singing style covers a broad range: her own upbeat original songs, classic oldies, country, power ballads, broadway, swing, etc. She has been likened to Faith Hill, Celine Dion and Sara Bareilles. You'll hear a sampling of her songs on this site.
Marlena has over 25 years experience, singing at every kind of show and venue: Tourist Resort Shows (her forté), the finest Boston and NH Resort hotels & restaurants, corporate events, weddings/private parties, and festivals. She also loves singing for seniors, veterans and special needs audiences every week. Perceptive of the needs and musical vibe of any audience, she is well-versed in knowing when and how to hold everyone’s attention, versus blending into the background.
Marlena describes herself:
"I'm warm, exuberant and genuine, with an attitude of gratitude toward my audiences, as well as my life in general. I'm very fortunate to sing as my full-time profession. I love writing new songs, striving to reach people's souls through song. I also love singing the songs my audiences know and love most, as we connect with mutual happiness through song.
Music is the most beautiful and powerful art form, in my opinion, and reaches people to their core. I’m thrilled and honored to connect emotionally with anyone, and it's usually an instant recognition through eye contact while singing to them. Whether happiness or tears (or both), seniors especially are moved to tears, and this is when I have no doubt that I’m doing what I was put here on earth to do."
"What a joy to be able to touch someone's soul with singing. Music heals, inspires... it reaches us on levels that no other art can, nor words alone. Singing to my audience is an honor, a privilege, and it's absolutely what I was born to do."
